Les Seychellois

The Seychelles, an island group located in the Indian Ocean near the equator, comprises approximately 115 islands and islets, some of which are widely dispersed. Most Seychellois inhabit the main island of Mahé, with its small capital Victoria, as well as Praslin and La Digue, where everyone seems to know each other. European visitors are immediately struck by the diverse appearance of the Seychellois. The various shades of brown-black skin captivate our attention. Often, bright Breton blue eyes gleam from within a dark complexion, long eyelashes and full lips adorn sun-speckled faces. Far-flung African regions, India, China, Southeast Asia, and even the New Continent seem to merge in the faces, their features blending in familiar shapes and every conceivable combination. © Martina M.
